New year, new story: why we took a breath
When we finished our product last year, we thought the hard work was done. We celebrated, told our friends, and sat out to start publishing. But life has a funny way of getting in the way. Tessa and I both started working these very intense jobs - Jackie in tech, Tessa in sales. Though we still shared this dream, the amount of time we were each able to contribute plunged. The hardest part was how much communication time we lost. As you may have picked up already, this company is a product of each of us - Tessa needed my eye for marketing and organization, and I surely couldn’t think about publishing without Tessa’s visionary eyes for tools and her pragmatic approach to business management. Though we continued to work asynchronously over the past 6 months, what we really suffered from was our inability to get face time. Or even FaceTime. It was hard for either of us to run with the company without learning from each other’s best qualities.
Well, at the start of this year my friends and I made a “New Years bingo” - 2026 goals. At the center of my bingo card is our first book. I am not leaving 2026 without giving my all to this. I called up Tessa immediately, who had the same idea. So we’re back, stronger than ever. We’ve already got a great book that you and your kids will obsess over, and we’re getting ready to share it with the world.
